EXCLUSIVE: Savannah Guthrie May Never Return to the Today Show
Sources tell me the NBC morning anchor is so traumatized by the kidnapping of her mother and the threat to her family, she may never come back to her epic role
Savannah Guthrie is dealing with the devil and may never come back to morning TV my sources tell me.
Guthrie and her sister Annie and her brother Cameron have been dealing with the unthinkable since their mother, Nancy Guthrie, 84, disappeared from her Tucson, Arizona home last Sunday. Authorities believe she was abducted from her sleep early Sunday morning after her doorbell camera was disconnected at 1:47 a.m. Family members had dropped her off at home around 9:48 p.m. Saturday after dinner, and she was reported missing the next day when she failed to show up at church. Blood found on her porch has been confirmed to belong to Nancy, and her pacemaker disconnected from its app in the early morning hours .
Purported ransom notes have been sent to multiple media outlets demanding $6 million in Bitcoin, with a deadline of 5 p.m. local time Monday and threats to Nancy’s life if the deadline isn’t met. The FBI has deemed at least some ransom communication credible because it referenced specific details like an Apple Watch and a floodlight that only someone with knowledge of the situation would know . One person has already been arrested in relation to an imposter ransom note trying to take advantage of the situation. The FBI is investigating the authenticity of multiple messages and offering a $50,000 reward for information.
